Hire a Hurricane empowers high school students by connecting them with local employers through an easy-to-use online platform, fostering equal job opportunities and strengthening community ties. The idea was born when friends at Westhampton Beach High School—home of the Hurricanes—kept asking me if I knew of any local job openings. Many were eager to earn money or save for college, but there wasn’t a simple way to connect students with nearby businesses. That’s when I realized the need for a solution. Hire a Hurricane bridges this gap by allowing local employers to post job opportunities that students can easily discover and apply for—regardless of their background or connections. More than just a job board, it’s a platform for creating opportunities, building relationships, and supporting the future of our community—one local hire at a time.
